About a year ago, OrgazmoDVD.com released a "trailer" for the always soon-to-be-released Special Edition Orgazmo DVD. Its final words were: "Coming...When Hell Freezes Over." I guess that means the end of the world is near, because the DVD is finally here!

First of all, the DVD is already getting great reviews (see IGN and DVDFile), and it's no wonder - this DVD is packed to the brim! Let's go through the different features:

Two versions of the film: Theatrical and Unrated.

Both versions of the film have been available on VHS for quite some time, but hard to find. The differences are subtle and don't have a huge impact on the film. However, it is great to have both versions available at the click of a button.

Three Commentary Tracks

The first track is what we have all been eagerly awaiting: the Drunken Commentary. We get the five guys from the hilarious Cannibal! commentary, Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Dian Bachar, Jason McHugh, and Andy Kemler, plus Stan Sawicki. With the exception of the less than perfect recording quality, the commentary is everything we've hoped for. Listen for the Journey reference in the movie! ("When the lights go down in the city...")

The second track is the Cast Commentary, which features Maki San, David Dunn, Robyn Raab, Jason McHugh, Lloyd Kaufman, Farrell Timlake, Shayla LaVeaux, and Mattt Potter, among others making comments here and there. While not as entertaining as the first track, it does offer some insight into the film by sober folk.

The third track is the Wild Commentary, which seems to be an experiment in DVD extras. It features many celebrities, who have nothing to do with the Orgazmo, commenting on the film, telling stories about Trey and Matt, and basically anything else in the world. Interesting, but a bit of a letdown.

People don't seem to take me very seriously.

Deleted Scenes

There are nearly 30 minutes of deleted scenes with optional (very) drunken commentary. These are definitely worth checking out.

The Book of Orgazmo

At about 40 minutes, this featurette by Mattt Potter is quite good. It includes clips from rare college shorts and the TV pilot that Trey created for Fox Lab, entitled "Time Warped," as well as many short interviews with the Orgazmo cast and crew. It's a fun little look into the world of Orgazmo. CRAPtv's own Brennan Clark provided the graphics!

DragonCon Interview

This is a live interview with Trey Parker done via satellite in September of 1998 at DragonCon. There is a message before the interview starts that it is laden with audio problems. There are points where it is impossible to hear what is being said, but ultimately the problems add to the humor.

Trailers

There are two trailers available: Red Band and the Original 16mm. The first is the studio trailer, which is exactly what you'd expect an Orgazmo trailer to be. The second is actually what was made to raise money to make the movie, similar to the situation with Cannibal!

Outtakes

Oh, how I love outtakes! 40 minutes of them? Excellent! Trey, Dian, and Matt screw up a lot, and good thing for us, because it means we get all these bloopers. Remember that Journey reference I mentioned earlier? Don't miss the full scene here in the Outtakes. ("...and the sun shines on the bay...")

Behind the Scenes

This is a nice little 18 minute featurette with behind the scenes footage, obviously. You get a glimpse of the hard work put into the film, including why blood was literally shed to make it.

EPK Interviews

These are very straight, sober interviews with Trey, Matt, Dian, Jason, and Juli. Short and sweet.

Stills Gallery

Over 40 production stills. Some never-before-seen. Good, good stuff. Stuff that makes you feel...good.

Summary

This DVD has it all. The case promises "more bonus features than you can wrap your legs around," which couldn't be more accurate. For Orgazmo fans everywhere, this is a dream come true. Yes, I know what you're thinking...a wet dream come true. You guys are so immature.
