In the movie, to cross the Green River, Humphrey suggests taking apart their wheelbarrow to make it into a boat, then rebuilding it once they crossed. This is somewhat similar to how the party crossed the river in real life. They built a raft and disassembled their wagons. Once across, they reassembled them. Talk about wasting time...
